Global Head of Corporate Engagement and President of the Goldman Sachs Foundation, Goldman Sachs

Asahi was born in Guyana, grew up in Brooklyn’s housing projects, and made her way to Swarthmore College and Columbia Law School. She started her career in the New York and Frankfurt offices of Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton and moved to Goldman Sachs in 2006. Asahi was the firm’s Co-Chief Compliance Officer and Global Head of Investment Banking Division Compliance before she stepped up to head Global Corporate Engagement. She now leads the firm's Community Reinvestment Act program and initiatives such as 10,000 Small Businesses, 10,000 Women, One Million Black Women, Goldman Sachs Gives, and Community TeamWorks. In 2024, Asahi added the role of Chair of Goldman Sachs’ $3 billion Urban Investment Group. She also serves on Goldman Sachs’ Management Committee.
