Shashi was born in Queens, New York, and earned a BS in Finance from Villanova and an MBA from Columbia. She began her career in structured finance on Wall Street before founding a fashion-tech startup and launching Project 2.8 at Columbia, an accelerator for early-stage women founders. In 2020, Shashi joined Hearst to build and lead Level Up Ventures, backing overlooked founders and helping companies scale through Hearst’s network, operators, and capital.
